Every item in Nathan’s collection was carefully selected to serve a purpose. It’s the ultimate surf travel kit, featuring nothing but the necessities with a heightened focus on versatility and innovation, because we know that when you’re lugging a board bag miles from home, the last thing you need is more stuff. And as part of our VR3 collection, we have re-thought, re-engineered and rebuilt every little bit of the Vans x Nathan Florence UltraRange VR3 to make it more sustainable. This includes a molded EcoCush™ midsole, a lightweight construction, an EcoWaffle™ rubber outsole, and a breathable upper designed to reduce waste in production compared to Vans’ traditional cut and sew uppers.

In order to reduce the overall footprint of Vans, our team has set ambitious sustainability goals. Big or small, all of our efforts add up to positive change. VR3 is the Vans commitment to sourcing 100% of our top 4 CO2 impact materials (cotton, leather, rubber and polyester) from Regenerative, Responsibly Sourced Renewable, and/or Recycled sources by 2030.

• FOOTBED: The new EcoCush™ midsole is made using at least 50% biobased EVA foam partially derived from plant-based sources per the ASTM D6866-16 testing standard.

• OUTSOLE: The new EcoWaffle™ outsole uses an all new rubber compound made with responsibly sourced natural rubber instead of petroleum derived synthetic rubber. This new rubber compound was developed and engineered to maintain the grip and durability Vans has been known for since ’66.
